    Help with clearing history?

I was wondering if anyone could tell me how to go about clearing my search history from the search box found at Places-Search for files. I can't seem to figure out where this is being stored.

    Thanks!

    Welcome to the forums!

Not certain what you are referring to, but if it's something with Firefox, take a look at the options under Bookmarks / Organize Bookmarks.

Also, enter about:config into the location bar and then enter search into the filter bar for some options that can be changed.

You can enter urlbar into the filter bar as well for other options.

Edit: after posting, I'm thinking you might be referring to the Places menu in the Gnome panel?

You should be able to clear them out by editing the file they are saved to by hand.

Open gedit and then open up the following file and edit as needed:

    Code:
    /home/your_username/.gconf/apps/gnome-settings/gnome-search-tool/%gconf.xml
