Scenario:

Server has been built with LVM2 by earlier SA.I have a server in which there are 5 DBs are running. One DBA has asked me to add 10 Gb for the existing VG. I was wondering if I get some space and increase the VG from the existing Storage. Instead of requesting for a new one.

My question is How to know if there are any free existing PVS.

Storage allocated was EMC Symmetrix

"Syminq" Command gives me all the list of storage attached.


Is this correct thread to post LVM and storage issues?
