    Recover files

    Hi all,

I was in the process of moving lots of files from one harddisk to another using 'mv' command when the power suddenly off. After everything's got back to normal I noticed that I was missing some directories on both source & targets harddisks.
Is there any way I can recover those directories since they're the most important ones.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Best Regards,

    Setya

    Check out TestDisk.

You can find it on the PartedMagic LiveCD and it's good for recovering partition tables, files, and such.

Best of luck with your recovery efforts.

    Hi,

Thank you very much for your suggestions.

I've checked TestDisk. It seems targeted for lost partitions which is not my case. Do you have any other alternatives ?

    Regards,

    Setya

Yes, PhotoRec is put out by the same folks as TestDisk and it can recover lots of different files types, as well as photos.
