    help a noobish/new linux user

hi all Ive been dabbling in Linux for quite some time now and i feel im ready to make the plunge to move to Linux as my main OS, however i do have some questions that i would like answering before i make my mind up on what distro to use and what not.

Ive heard a grate deal on Gentoo's flexibility and power, but i just want to know if all that hard work of downloading and compiling the packages is worth it,

Debian is a ok distro i have had a few problems with getting things to work,

i have fallen in love with some of the fluxbox themes and i like the cleanness of fluxbox but i also like some of the widgets you can get for KDE so i was hoping some one would know of a guide to configuring fluxbox as i cant find a control center for it like KDE has

thanking you all in advance Nightsider.

That's more or less a personal decision. It is worth it for some users, but not worth it for others. You'd probably need to try it yourself to determine if it's worth it to you.

I'm not aware of any Control Centers for Fluxbox, but you can check the Fluxbox Wiki for some articles on configuring it.
