Trying to run Offline NT password and registry editor

I am trying to reset the administrator password on my PC that I have been locked out. I can boot from my .iso Ultimate Boot CD V4.1.1. I am having problems in Step One.

    Mounting on /dev/sdal
    NTFS volume version 3.1.
NTFS-fs warning (devise sda1): load_system_files(): Unsupported voulme flags 0x4000 encountered.
NTFS-fs error (devise sda1): load_system_files(): Volume has unsupported flags set. Mounting read-only. Run chkdsk and mount in Windows.
    Filesystem is: NTFS

Do you have any idea why I am getting this error? I can't login to my PC to do anything else. Any help is greatly appreciated!

    Thanks in advance!

    Hi,

Have you tried running chkdsk on your disk? You should be able to do that from the UBCD or you could use the Recovery Console which you should be able to get to by booting from a Windows install CD and following the on-screen instructions to enter the Recovery Console.

I would try that, reboot the system cleanly (don't just hit the power button), and see if you get the same message with NT Offline.

    Just a suggestion
