    Installing rtai 3.6.2 on fedora 6

    Hi ..
    I am a newbie to linux..I have been asked to setup rtai on a fedora 6 core..
    uname -r
    gives me the following output
    Code:
    2.6.18-1.2798.fc6
    ls ~/rtai-3.6.2/base/arch/i386/
    gives me
    Code:
    hal-linux-2.4.34-i386-1.3-04.patch    hal-linux-2.6.20.21-i386-1.12-03.patch
    hal-linux-2.4.35.5-i386-1.3-04.patch  hal-linux-2.6.22-i386-1.10-12.patch
    hal-linux-2.4.36-i386-1.3-04.patch    hal-linux-2.6.23-i386-1.12-03.patch
    hal-linux-2.6.19-i386-1.7-01.patch    README
    thus it has a patch for kernel 2.6.19 .. i tried patching the kernel and booted using the 2.6.19 kernel .. when i got this for
    uname -r
    Code:
    2.6.19
    I dont know how to proceed after this .. can anyone please help ?

    FC6 is a little outdated and no longer fully supported. I would suggest upgrading to either Fedora 9 or 10. However... Google search gave me EMC Documentation Wiki: RtaiSteps

    thnx jay for the quick reply .. actually i have to do it at my workplace..so i cannot change the OS .. no access to a DVD drive .. i will go thru the link u have provided ..
