    NTPD - Help

Can anyone explain why the daemon ntp has a -U switch, and what the switch does.

I cannot find it listed anywhere, closest I can find is a -V but mine is -U.

    Thanks in advance

You should be able to view descriptions of the command's different switches by viewing the man page for that command.

    Code:
    man ntpd
You can also try searching online. There are a lot of good sites that display man pages online. Here's one example:

ntpd Man Page - BASH Cures Cancer

You should be able to find what you're looking for with one of those methods.

Thanks for your reply, before posting i did try the options you suggested and neither explain or mention the -U option hence why I posted here asking if anyone knew anything.
