    freeBSD installation

    Hi,

I am new to Linux\Unix world. The only way I think for me to learn is to do it myself. Here is a new project that I am taking on myself. I need Unix\Linux guru to give me an outline on how I can accomplish my project (for fun). My friend's system went down the other day. His system has SCO OpenServer Release 5 and one special application that start when he turn on the system. I am thinking of using my DELL Precision 370 and install freeBSD release 7.0 then install the special application. Currently, I am downloading freeBSD. Can any guru(s) give me an outline to this task if you were me?

    Thanks in advance,
    Allen

I don't want to get rid of you, but the official FreeBSD forum went online just a couple of weeks ago.
