    adding themes with gdmsetup

Im a linux newbie i have tinkered with it a little but still trying to learn the ropes.

OK so i have downloaded a theme that i wanted to try...i have just did an install of opensuse 11. i ran gdmsetup and selected the theme and it shows up under there but i can't seem to activate it am i doing something wrong.

So if i go to the local tab i see the picture of the theme there and it is selected.

The style is Themed and theme is selected only any idea why it did not switch? maybe its a bad theme can someone recommend a good site to get themes from?

    thanks!

Best place for themes is kde-look.org and gnome-look.org (depending on which desktop enviro you're using). In terms of your issue...could be a couple things

I think it's unlikely that it's a bad theme. When you downloaded it was it titled under "compiz theme" or "berryl theme"? If it was there's a good chance you'll need to install compiz, compizconfig-settings-manager and probably emerald as well.

Go into the package manager and look for those things (I haven't used OpenSuse in a long time so I forget which package manager it has but you should be able to find it in administration or something like that)
    Bodhi 1.3 & Bodhi 1.4 using E17
Dell Studio 17, Intel Graphics card, 4 gigs of RAM, E17
