    help with programs

    i have just got an acer aspire 1 web book today, im having trouble finding info on how to run msn messenger if it is possible and also when im on facebook on peoples profile it just displays the pictures no text is there a setting i need to change or a software update?

    for the facebook problem ide say install Firefox it might help

    im already running fire fox but i just cant get any of the info up on facebook wired

    For MSN, you obviously need an MSN client. aMSN is popular, and I believe that Pidgin supports MSN as well:

    aMSN - Opening your communication
    Pidgin, the universal IM client

    As for the Facebook problem, this sounds like a webbrowser issue. Make sure you're using the latest version of Firefox, and try googling to see if anyone else has had this issue.

    cheers mate still abit stuck casue the amsn there is different versions 8.4 or 8.5 unsure which one to get ?
    also when i download something it just goes into a read me type file

    Well. I know nothing about Linpus, but does it have a way to install software? Most Linux distributions include a package manager that would allow you to say "Install aMSN" and it would do the rest.

    It looks like the basic aMSN installer requires Tcl/Tk. Again, I know nothing about Linpus, but check to see what version of Tcl/Tk you have and choose accordingly.

    Maybe someone who knows more about the Acer Aspire can help a bit more. Sorry for not knowing much about this.
