[SOLVED] cannot see photos on the television
Hello there.
I just joined. age 70 - pensioner - seeking some help.
Problem: i bought a 2.5 inch external hard drive with the intention of loading it with photos from my computer and also to use it to record films from my AB-com satellite receiver which has a SATA and a USB port. i can dowload photos and i can also record films, but i cannot see the photos on the television. i understand the prioblem is that i have Windows on my computer while the AB-com is Linux based, but i do not know what to do about it. can i have both Linux and Windows on my computer? i am not conversant with computers. thanks for any help and very good wishes for 2009.

Welcome to the forums!
Yes, most distributions will automatically setup a dual boot option for you during the installation routine if you tell the installer that's what you want.
Check the link in my signature for lots of good information on getting started with Linux.
Hope it all goes well for you.oz
