hey so im trying linux for the 2nd time, last time it was a disaster for me.
1. i have the msi gx630... would the lan and keyboard and mice ...

new to linux...have couple of questions.
hey so im trying linux for the 2nd time, last time it was a disaster for me.

1. i have the msi gx630... would the lan and keyboard and mice would work out of the box? im asking since its a new system...
2. honnestly is there any main advantages of going with a certan distribution since im a hardcore windows user?
3. any diffrence except for the gui between kde and gnome?
4. what main commands should i no to get around? i no sudo already
6. is there any dis advantages of going with a 64 bit version?
5.anything else i need expect for exprince to not get frustrated with linux?

im currently making 4 partitions of 15 gb's to install ubuntu,fedora,mandriva, and opensuse. just need enough to get by.

Welcome to the forums!

1) don't know... it's usually best to try it and see, but maybe someone with that specific hardware will respond.
2) your experience and usage of Windows shouldn't have any impact on which Linux distro you choose.
3) it's purely a matter of personal preference - try one, then the other and decide.
4) check LinuxCommand.org for some quick lessons if you are interested in working from the command line.
5) check the link in my signature for lots of good information on getting started with Linux.

Live Cd's are made for questions like yours. You don't have to install them till you are happy with the results. Its like Test Driving a New Motorcycle. You try em out till you decide which one fits you best.

not fan of live cd's at all. tried two of them before... it just slows system down... i really want to learn linux since i know in near future i will be using it for work... and i have a good 100 gigs free on my drive
so i dont mind installing it as long as its a gui which the major once which im trying are. thanks tho

Same here... I find liveCDs to be very good for seeing what Linux looks like and for use in emergency situations, but otherwise not a fan of using them.
