I have recently installed fedora linux in my laptop. I also have windows xp installed. i am unable to access my files and folders located in the partition drives of windows as linux is asking for authenticity password. though i have tried putting in my user password i am unable to mount the drives. please help...

Hello,
there are at least accounts on a typical GNU/Linux system. An administrative account, called "root", and an ordinary user account, with which the daily work is done.
Normally, you are asked to define root's password during install time.Debian GNU/Linux -- You know you want it.

have you tried to access them as root?
as GNU-FAN said root is the user having all powers. try as root.Sorry, it was unintentional.
You should have told me at least once and i could have fix it.

post the following:
go to terminal and type sudo fdisk -l
post
then do:
sudo gedit /etc/fstab
post
It sounds like your ntfs partition isn't set up properly in your fstab (where the auto mounts are located)Bodhi 1.3 & Bodhi 1.4 using E17
