Does all Linux software work with all Linux distros?
Some software installations only mention certain distros.

It's not the software itself but the format of the compiled binary that the software is in that often makes a difference on what distros it will work with.
For instance, Debian-based distros use .DEB packages, where as many other distros use .RPM packages. On the other hand, you should be able to install software from source on just about any distribution.oz
