    welcome to the forums!

x86 iso files should work for you.

i686 file loads but screen is blinking during loading. I thought this could be
    because of file.

can you supply a link to the repo that you are downloading from?

an i686 distro probably won't run properly on a i586 machine.

    check the ubuntu downloads page:

    Download Ubuntu | Ubuntu

one of the x86 ISO files there should work for you. you might have even better luck with xubuntu.

I do not remember: when you click on download from fedoraproject page
it connects to different mirrors. The mirrors are the same, aren't they?

you can get the i386 download for Fedora that should work from here:

    ftp://download.fedora.redhat.com/pub...dora/i386/iso/

...or the opensuse download for i586 machines from here:

    Software.openSUSE.org

Thank you. opensuse.org also redirects me i686 file. If you click x86 32bit
the iso file is for i686... and the same thing it is blinking during loading.

Seems like i586 version is difficult to find.

When I click the link it directs to the following i586 iso file:

    http://download.opensuse.org/distrib...1-DVD-i586.iso

You can also see the i586 files by looking directly into the folder where they reside:

    Index of /distribution/11.1/iso
