    question about moving drivers

Sorry all I searched hard, but I can't find out if there is a way to move a driver from dsl to puppy. Or even vice versa.. Ya see I have this old toshiba Lappy that is pretty worthless w/ anything but a small version like these [windoze is out] Kinda thought that I should start by putting each onto the HDD. Now I can find the drivers ... but can't seem to move them . for instance , in dsl the pointing device and buttons don't work... while in puppy the darn pcmcia bay is not found... and yes I did triple check the darn bios and do Not have cardbus enabled. So for instance I find the pcmcia drivers for dsl via lib/modules/[version#]/kernel/drivers... now I try to copy the pcmcia "puzzle pieces" to the puppy/usr/x11r7/lib/xorg/modules/drivers but it don't seem to be workin... maybe I'm not putting them in the correct place?? OH BTW I was booted into "ram only" from cd when I did the copy thing. If I'm not doin it right just kinda [gently] guide me to a better method... Thanks.. RP So nooob I don't know the terminology!!

Got Puppy to workin' properly... Not sure how, between moving driver modules [look like puzzle pieces to me] And , I must admit I still had to do some manipulating of the bios, as the same ones that work w/ puppy don't necessarily provide what I want w/ DSL... Guess now I'll Pick One!!! RP
