    Complete newbie - Virtual CD??

    Hi,

I'm fresh to linux and I've just purchased a Eeepc 901 netbook, which doesn't have a cd drive. I'm trying to install xubuntu, which I've downloaded as an ISO file. My aim was to use a 'virtual cd' piece of software to get around the lack of cd drive. It's this thats proving to be the problem.

I've trailed through the site and there are a couple of methods, all of which I can't get to work. If anyone has any tips I would be very grateful.

Just so you know when ever I open a shell it comes up with - /home/user/My Documents

The ISO file is in My Document file

    Cheers

    Phil

I assume that you have another PC. Boot an Ubuntu Live-cd and use the tool "Create a Usb disk" from System->Administration. Just tell it which (X)Ubuntu ISO to use and your Live-usb is good to go!
