Looking for a good Linux OS on Thinkpad 600e?

    Hi,

Longe time browers first time poster! As above really, I've been using DSL (Damb small Linux) for about a year since Windows 2000 packed up and had to format. this is a back up computer I really just used for web browsing. I like the quick set up and ease of DSL but just want a change to a more stable OS.

Here is a older Post from Zenwalks Forum back when Zenwalk was 4.0. Now it's at 5.2 and the kernel is 2.6.25.4 which probably has the module for 600E soundcard by now.

Zenwalk seems to be nice distro, but i think it wont be lighter like DSL.
    You can simply go Puppy

Well its not too different from DSL, but you can use some good Puppets for better features+performance.

I run Puppy Dingo also b2wild. I just didn't know for sure if He would be able to handle running as a root user. Zenwalk sets up a root and a user account during install. in fact, they have a nice tutorial for installing in the wiki here
