Unhappy Clueless Acer Aspire One Owner!

We bought my daughter an Acer Aspire One netbook recently. She wanted to use it for talking to her friends on MSN but says that she cannot download Windows Live Messenger as it is a windows application and not supported by Linux. Is there anyway that she can download this to use? Any help would be much appreciated.

    Thanks in anticipation

I think the Aspire One has pidgin already installed and that should handle MSN as well as various others

My new blog. It's probably not as good as I think it is.
