    [SOLVED] cannot install xp after removing linpus linux

    Hello people..
    I'm a newbie here. I have a problem intalling XP after I've removed linpus linux. When I insert XP's cd this message appeared on the screen " virus has detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer"...
    Any sugesstion?

    If you can burn a Gparted Iso GParted -- Live CD/USB/PXE/HD

    and boot it up and reformat your linpus partiton to NTFS you should be ok.

    are you installing on a clean drive or there are old partitions?
    Never make any misteaks.

    Still can't install XP after removed Linpus linux

    Linpus linux actually a pre-installed Os for my new laptop..i bought it 2 days ago.. ACER Aspire 4935.. as i boot the XP cd and everything was as usual but suddenly when the installer about to start the Windows setip then the blank blue screen with "a problem detected and windows has been shut down....bla...bla...". i tried to format using partition editor in my live cd ubuntu 7.1 and also recomended by someone 'GParted' but the problem still occur. Guys,plzz if someone have experiance this problem before and know how to solve this plzz reply me... Anyway thank you very much

    Just clean your partition table.
    and make new blank one.

    Then try to install.
    Never make any misteaks.

    i'm just know a bit about formatting or installing OS to HD.. Do you haveany software that could help me clean my HD...or give me the software name then i'll google for it...thanks for quick response

    You will to run with wim98 bootable cd
    & run command "fdisk"
    to remove non-dos partition
    after remving non-dos partition you can install winXP

    Boot up from any LiveCD of Linux distro ( GParted suggested earlier ), open Terminal and execute this
    Code:
    su -
    dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/sda bs=512 count=1
    Above code will wipe your Hard disk and Windows Installation media will work fine.
    It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.
