Flash 10 randomly stops working
Hi.
For some odd reason Flash 10 randomly stops working in Firefox for me.
I had it happen when using Fedora 9 & 10, Ubuntu 8.4. Now I'm using Mint 6.0 and I have the same problem. When ever a flash video playing or some kind of a flash content is being displayed it just randomly leaves me with a empty/blank box for flash content on the web-page. it just blanks out. If I refresh the page then it will be displayed again, but can disappear randomly.
My system is up to date & Firefox is updated to version 3.0.6. I did try reinstalling flash, but no good.
Never had that problem with Suse 10.3 and 11.
Any one else had issues like that before? How did you solve them?
Thank you for you time.

Alright, I got it solved.
The following packages had to be removed:
- flashplugin-nonfree
- flashplugin-nonfree-extrasound
- adobe-flashplugin
- nspluginwrapper
Then install:
- flashplugin-nonfree
I found this info here, if you need more info.

I was having the same problem so I followed that advice too. It left me completely unable to play flash videos which obviously wasn't the intention.
A little experimentation later and it seems that you only need to remove flashplugin-nonfree-extrasound to fix the issue (certainly with Opera anyway)If we hit that bullseye, the rest of the dominoes will fall like a house of cards. Checkmate! (Zapp Brannigan)
My new blog. It's probably not as good as I think it is.
