    Exclamation Unable to Boot CDs

Okay so the problem here is..
I attempted to install openSUSE 11.1, with a DVD, It went through the install, started installing the boot loader, and then kept popping up tons of errors, ending up in it reporting the boot loader install had failed, and aborted the overall installation.

I am now unable to boot from any DVD or CD. (I have tried over a dozen DVDs) In order to install a different distro (I am trying Ubuntu, Linux Mint, Mandriva, Mepis, Feodra Core, & openSUSE)

When I boot, after the BIOS screen is done, it displays a single _ in the top left corner blinking, waits about 20 seconds and then kicks me to the grub prompt.

I have checked all of the cables, configured BIOS properly for CD-ROM boot, reset the bios to default, and also reset the CMOS. I have no flash drive, otherwise I would attempt to flash the BIOS.

What happens when you detach the harddrive (pull the cable)?
Does the CD still not boot?
Debian GNU/Linux -- You know you want it.

I detached it.. _ blinked in upper left corner for about 25 seconds, then said

    Code:
"DISK BOOT FAILURE, INSERT SYSTEM DISK AND PRESS ENTER"

Could you please check that the CD drive is higher in the boot sequence than the hard disk?

BIOS Does detect the DVD-RW Drive on initial hardware check

Boot devices are set as the following.
    1. CD-ROM
    2. Removable
    3. Hard Drive

You might also check that the CD/DVD is clean and if you can, clean the CD/DVD drive with some compressed air.

DVD is brand new, just opened. And I cleaned the DVD Drive with Air duster as best I could.I had another DVD-RW drive lyin around somewhere, but I can't seem to find it, so I'll take out the DVD-RW drive on this PC and swap it over to test it, if it works I'll just install either openSUSE, Ubuntu, or Linux Mint, not sure which. And then just put the drive back.
