Hello,

I realize this thread is 6 years old, but I'm having this problem with wget at the moment. It worked before on another server, and I've noticed the same LANG discrepancy:

Current server with problems: LANG=en_US.UTF-8
Previous server worked fine: LANG=en_US


Is there any way to remedy this? Can I not avoid this problem with UTF-8, as I'm not sure if I'm able to change the LANG type. Thanks in advance for any insight and help you may have to offer.

Edit: Well I used unset LANG and now it works, but the filesizes say 'unauthoritative'. Is there any way to set the LANG to something that will work AND provide authoritative file sizes? Thanks
