    hi

ok so i have vector linux SOHO 5.9.1 on a x86 platform, stand alone desktop. I'm trying ti install some programs i've downloaded from the official Vector repository. All of the have the .tlz extension. I wanna know if i can install them using slapt-get or gslapt, since i've tried to install programs such as OpenOffice 3.0 and the package was a .tgz archive, and the system told me to use .tlz packages instead.
    What to do?

I must admit to being unfamiliar with Vector Linux. But when it's a choice between using your package manager and installing from downloaded binary/tgz/.bin file, then the package manager wins hands down every time - unless you want a particular version of a package.
