The graphical method: (for GNOME)
Press Alt+F2 this opens up Run menu.
Type:
type your password and hit enter.Code:gksudo gedit /etc/X11/xorg.conf
I suggest you to make a backup copy before fiddling with the original xorg.conf file
Code:sudo cp /etc/X11/xorg.conf /etc/X11/xorg.conf.orig

vlc player problems
B][/B] I canti I cant get vlc player to wori. i did the synaptic package install, but i get an error that says VLC PLAYER CANT OPEN MRL. WHAT IS AN "MRL"? i have seen the (LIVDVDCSS2 ) file in the terminal when i did the update. So, i know that is something that VLC needs . But what else can i do? movie player will not work either. I am using UBUNTU 9.04 IS THERE ANOTHER OS I SHUOLD TRY? I would hate to go back to XP, but i am getting so frustrated with all the installs, downloads, and countless re-installation of ubuntu. I only got it to play dvds once, but had to un-install ubuntu because of a problem loging on to my computer. Now i just cant find a download or install package that will allow the player to work. HELP.
