    Welcome to the forums!

One of the best places to learn scripting under linux is here:

LinuxCommand.org: Learn the Linux command line. Write shell scripts.

    Hello and Welcome!

We also have a sub-section of the Forums for scripting questions, found here. You may be able to get some specific help there.

    Good luck on your page!

I don't use nano, so I'm afraid I don't have any specific instructions for you there. But the nano manpage may be of help:
    nano(1) - Linux man page

It seems to me that you need to have a look at a good but entry level PHP tutorial. You can edit these with any text editor.

If you have any specific questions, please post in the scripting forum

Take it slowly and always make backups just in case
