If you are trying to access windows from linux, as I understand your statement to mean, and you are getting access denied, I believe you need to setup a user account on windows (with a password) for your samba client / user to authenticate with. OR reducing the security requirements of your windows machine. I'm not a windows expert, and only use samba the other way around (linux server, windows client) so I can't help you further than that.

I've never heard of linux mounting a drive over SMB, but I suppose it could be done in theory. again, I've never done it this way, so I can't help you out more than what I know from doing windows to windows sharing, where you have to have a valid username and password on the server.

If I were you though, I'd google for "mount linux samba" or something like that, and see what comes up.

You need to open a new thread for a different question, and it is usually best to try to solve all problems on your own to the best of your ability before asking a web forum for help.

I suggest all people new to forums read this
