    Smile KDE Distro

Hey guys, brand new member here, really trying to get into Linux.

I have tried Ubuntu and recently decided to make a switch to KDE instead of Gnome, there are soooo many distros of Linux that i don't even know where to start. I am sure you guys get this a lot ut can anyone recommend a KDE distro?

    Thanks in advanced,
    mjr

If you like Ubuntu, why not try the KDE version, Kubuntu?

If you liked Ubuntu, you could switch to Kubuntu, which is basically the same but with KDE instead of Gnome.

As you said there are a lot of distros out there, so it's very hard to recommend one for you. I'd say you should try a few of the major ones (have a look at distrowatch.org), and see which ones *you* prefer.

Yeah i have been checking out distro watch and also found the Linux Quiz in one of the members sigs on this site. I have pretty much narrowed it down to Opensuse and Fedora i think, but Kubuntu i have not looked into.

If you look at: Ubuntu Linux Resources you will see how to convert your Ubuntu install to Kubuntu. See particularly "Install KDE" and "Pure KDE"

    Welcome to the forums!

I've not tried it myself, but have heard that Opensuse's implementation of KDE4 is very good. If you should try it, let us know how it goes.
