    Acer Aspire 100 and music

Hi.. I have an acer aspire 110 notepad. I tried to play music and the files do not appear to be recognised. Do I need to install something else???

I expected something like a media player to launch but nothing happens.

Also I cannot connect to the update server even though it says updates are ready for download.

    Any suggestions please.

    Thank you.

You need to install some media player like VLC which covers a wide range of file formats.
What kind of files are not running and which distribution are u using?

it would really help to solve the problem if you could tell us the extention of the file you are trying to play. Have you tried to play the file with VLC?

ok.. to recap...i acnnot see vlc as a download option on the server.

I have 'media master' already installed.

I have 1 m4a file in the 'my music folder'.

I also have mplayer' but i get an error code 'cannot find codec for audio format 0x6134706D, whatever this means..

    does this help more?

    thx
