Open office...draw...symbols in the menu bars?

Today I assembled a machine and installed Ubuntu 8.4...I think. When I opened Open office, more specifically the drawing section, the toolbars were full of a script font and I am not sure of how to change it to something I can read. Any and all help much appreciated.

Can you post an image here on the forum of what excatly is happening. Or consider re-installing open office to correct the problem.

Have you changed you system fonts at all? If you go to Preferences>Appearance>Fonts, make sure it isn't set to "Standard Symbols". Just a guess, but a friend of mine had done that, and it caused Open Office to display everything in Greek characters. You might be suffering something similar.
