    Problem in booting a new kernel

    Hello,

    I am novice...I am UBUNTU 8.04....I tried to boot an new kernel...I compiled the new kernel and installed it correctly...But when i go with that kernel i am getting error as "File not found"...Dont know what is the problem....Can anyone tell me what will be the error.....

    Did you edit your /boot/grub/menu.lst to include the new kernel?

    Can you post output of
    Code:
    cat /boot/grub/menu.lst
    ls /boot -l
    ls /dev/disk/by-uuid -l
