Ubuntu packages onto Fedora 10
I have recently installed Fedora 10 on my pc which had Ubuntu before. I made a package back up for Ubuntu , I wonder if these packages can be made to work on Fedora

You can use alien, but different distros set things up differently and you can run into problems doing this. Better to install Fedora packages if at all possible.

I would suggest you install same packages through default Package Manager of Fedora, yum. It will easier to use yum instead of converting each package and face dependency problems.
Install Graphical Interface of yum, Yum Extender.
Look for Yum Extender in Menu. You can install/remove/upgrade packages through it easily.Code:su - yum -y install yumex
It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.

I went through the page reed9 provided but got the feel that it might not work out 100%, the package that i have are for some software and compfusion etc...
So should I go ahead with it , wat say guys.

they are available but i have a backup of the ubuntu package on a cd , so i would prefer to convert than to download. Thanks anyway
