linux - Acer Aspire one
Hi

Bought my son an acer aspire one notepad for internet browsing etc.
All great, but the only thing is he has no My Documents, My pictures and My music etc in the Files section?
Any ideas would be great, we dont have an external disk drive to use the backup cd.
Thanks in advance

Welcome to the forums!
You should be able to create directories named as such if you really want/need them. I've never had them under Linux, but have never felt the need for them, either.oz

You should be able to create them using your file manager like you would any other directory, or you can create them from the command line with the mkdir command:
You can run man mkdir for more details on using the mkdir command.Code:mkdir name_of_directory

The Aspire One comes with a fedora based distro called Linpus Lite. I believe they hide the terminal by default. If you've already figured out how to access it, great, but here is a collection of various tips and tricks for the netbook.
