You can find information about commands here:

Linux Command Directory - O'Reilly Media

...another option is to run man command_name from the command line.

so I should just randomly click on links until I find one that will hopefully work? Sure would be easy for some one to impart some knowledge. Cmon Super Moderator haha

Forums have become a place for people to gloat about how much knowledge they have that others don't. I never get help on these things any more.

    You're welcome...

No, you don't have to buy the book, but it is for sale if you want it. You can find it cheaper should you decide to purchase it, though.

Why the hell would you buy a book on a free operating system when every where you go everything is free? You would have to be a idiot. That is the purpose of linux to stick it to the man and keep development of software and technology moving forward. If you wanna make money switch to windows.

Who's asking you to buy it?

You can click on the links and read it for free, or you can click on another link to purchase. It's left entirely up to the person doing the clicking.

It would be easier for us to help you if you ask a question, which you haven't, or at least not in a clear form that we can understand it. So, sir, what is the question?

Forums have become a place for people to gloat about how much knowledge they have that others don't. I never get help on these things any more.
If I wanted to be famous I'd use my real name and put a photo or a link to a personal blog here. We are here "wasting" out time for free. I am very sorry if we don't meet your expectations. If you don't like what I do here next month don't pay my salary

I cant even post links ....what the heck?
That's an anti-spam measure. Any forum user knows that. If they allow newcomers to post links on the first post they are inviting spammers to do their job.

And there you demonstrate your uber degree of knowledge about what Linux is. Linux is free as in freedom, but not necessarily as in beer. There are commercial linux distros, and a lot of them also sell support, train people, give technical assistance and sell manuals and merchandising, amongst many other things. I am very sorry if you are deceived because you think that OSS developers and workers do not deserve a payment for their job. You know... at the other end of the wire there are human beings, not robots. They eat and have to pay the bills. If you think that paying someone for his work is being an idiot I think that you are on the wrong century, most countries abolished slavery long ago.

Besides that, and as someone already told you, if you don't want to pay you have the sources/text/docs on the web to do whatever you want with them.

Now, if you have a true question formulate it so we can try to help.

Just because something is done son doesn't make it right. Remember that in your journey through life.
