If I'm not wrong then there can be one of the two entries in the lilo.conf file, either lba32 or linear. But wat is the exact difference between them....

    Well Linear options uses BIOS Linear translation for the hard disk drive sectors. And LBA(Logical Block Addressing) uses the new EDD specification for accesssing hard disk drive.
