Making an .iso of ubuntu with my applications installed

    Hi super-helpful-awesome-hackers,

Newbie running Jaunty here! So, I made a USB of mine bootable and now enjoy being able to use ubuntu on the go at other computers. For this USB, I took a downloaded .iso of ubuntu and used the usb startup disk creator. Simple enough.

What I was hoping to do is make an .iso of my current OS with all of my applications installed and maybe a few other things if I still have room left over; essentially make a carbon copy of my OS so that (gigabytes of music and movies not included) I can pretty much carry my comp in my pocket. Ignoring the issue of not having enough space on the USB, which I may run into as I try this, does anyone know of an application to make such an .iso? I tried looking through the applications list and did quite a few searches, but nothing jutted out.

Any help would be very appreciated!

you may run into some driver issues along the way....that would be my biggest concern if you're making a completely copy.

what u want to do is make a live CD or DVD image of the Ubuntu with all the applications installed. that are installed in your HDD

if thats the things then u can go for Remastersys
Remastersys is a tool that can be used to do 2 things with an existing Klikit or Ubuntu or derivative installation. It can make a full system backup including personal data to a live cd or dvd that you can use anywhere and install. It can make a distributable copy you can share with friends. The distributable copy will not have any of your personal user data in it.
