Ekiga?
Hi all,
Anyone use Ekiga....I can NEVER get it to work properly. It's so inconsistent that I get frustrated. A short list of what I've dealt with (I've been trying to get it work since the release of Ubuntu 7.04)
1. Sometimes it randomly says it can't register my user account
2. If I try to disable the account it'll say "can't unregister account"
3. Sometimes Echo test goes through fine, I can see myself and it works, othertimes I try to connect to Echo Test and it'll say "call completed" without ever showing me anything
4. Telling me buddies are not online when I know they are, or even telling me Echo Test is not available.
anyone have any ideas, I really want a decent VoiP, Skype works sometimes but it has some bugs too that are annoying me. Thanks allBodhi 1.3 & Bodhi 1.4 using E17

I've gotten it running but to be honest most people don't use it so I find it unhelpful to me. I know the Skype protocols (or maybe codecs) are proprietary but it's still the most well known VOIP service out there so my arm's kinda twisted into using that.
So in short, I've never had it running long enough to have any problems

you see that skype might be closing though? They are being sued and ebay is saying they aren't sure they can win and if they don't, they are fairly sure they can't replace the software (or piece of software) within a reasonable price tag
