Acer Aspire One touchpad problem
Hi,
I have an Acer Aspire One running Linpus and have a problem that hopefully someone can help me with.
All was working fine until I ran a Live Update. After a reboot the keyboard and touchpad stopped working.
I've tried FN-F7 and also tried with a USB keyboard and mouse. There are no BIOS settings that need changing. All I'm left with is a desktop with the cursor in the centre of the screen that can' t be moved.
I have the recovery disk but wondered if someone has any other suggestions first.
Thanks for looking

I would wager that most knowledgeable linux users here with an Aspire One have long since ditched Linpus Lite. (I do not have one nor have I used Linpus, but my impression from answering many questions regarding it on forums, is that it's not very good.)
I would recommend either going ahead with the recovery disk, asking on a forum specific to the Aspire One (Acer Aspire One User Forum • View forum - Software - Linux), or taking this opportunity to put a decent OS on your machine.

Reed is spot on with his advice. Not many Acer Aspire Linpus Users here that I know of. I run AntiX 8.2 on my Asus eeepc. I installed Easy Peasy on my wifes Acer Aspire one and she is a long time windows user and enjoys running Easy Peasy because everything works out of the box right after install with no configuring. Including Wireless and Web Cam

+1 for Easy Peasy.
I tried it the moment I read about it and couldn't be happier with it!
Camera, Wireless working with NO configuration and it comes with the following pre-installed: codecs for everything, flash player on Firefox 3, OpenOffice 3, Songbird, VLC and more.

I know this problem!
I had it as well (though my machine came with Windows, for those devices have a larger HDD). I installed Ubuntu to it, but reinstalling didn't solve the entire problem. However the keyboard will be turned back on, after re-installing but you will have to turn on the touch pad through the keyboard short cuts.
My experience with the device is that it works pretty well, after you have installed non-OEM software (or at least have removed all of the firmware in the case of Windows).
I don't like OEM software as manufacturers tend to screw it all up. My solution to it?
