When i boot from a backtrack 3 Live CD, it doesn't give me the option to boot into KDE or other stuff, it brings be straight to Kommand. I type in iwconfig and they tell me no wireless extensions. I try airmon-ng start wlan0 doesn't work

When I boot from USB, my screen goes black and my mouse cursor flashes between normal and an X, and occasionally I can see the Kommand console, and I can only hit the power button to turn it off.

When I use vmware player, I get the GUI, open Kommand and type in iwconfig and they tell me no wireless extensions. I try airmon-ng start wlan0 doesn't work

I have an Intel wifi 5100 agn in my laptop.

Any suggestions how to fix it?
