    Fedora 11 - Sound Problems

Hi, I am new to Linux but consider myself pretty well versed in Windows. Over this past weekend, I installed Fedora 11 on an old Dell Latitude C800 (P3/850Mhz). The install went pretty smooth, with the exception of sound (it even picked up the D-Link pcmcia card without a driver disk). All of the audio programs said it was using a "null volume". All searches have not been very helpful. Some said to install this program, or that program, but all suggestions proved not to be helpful. I continued to look for the equivalent of (device manager), but could not find anything.

    My questions are as follows:
Is there a "device manager", in Fedora that will allow me to locate the sound card, and apply the appropriate driver?
I found some of the syntax associated with the command line commands a little confusing, is there a place with some of the common commands, so that I can bone up on them?

I am truly excited about getting this Fedora/Linux box going.

Any help you can provide would be most appreciated.

    Respectfully submitted,

    djswitch

I am not aware of your first question.
for linux commonds you can go here:
LinuxCommand.org: Learn the Linux command line. Write shell scripts.
    Sorry, it was unintentional.
You should have told me at least once and i could have fix it.
    thanks for reminding me.
