Need low requirements distro
I have a p3 450Mhz machine with *gasp* 64MB of RAM. What distro can I possibly run on this? My intentions are to run an Apache server just for fun, not expecting any traffic but myself.

There are alot of threads on this already... the ones that spring to mind are Damn Small Linux, Puppy Linux, and maybe Crunchbang Linux. If you go to Distrowatch you can read about them all. There are several to choose from!

I know this has been asked before but low specs to some is 512MB of RAM. 64MB is abysmal.

You can find some other light weight options here:
Mini Linux - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Unfortunately, there aren't a lot of options for 64 megs of RAM, but there are a few.
Let us know what you go with and how it works out for you.Last edited by oz; 08-22-2009 at 06:02 PM. Reason: spelling

I know 512 of RAM is "low spec," but anything that could run WindowsXP can sure as heck run most Linux distros. My 512 machine runs Ubuntu (Gnome) quite adequately, and the minimal Ubuntu/LXDE mix zooms along super fast on it. I wouldn't dare try it on a 64-RAM machine though. I'm sure I'll be adding RAM soon if I ever get brave enough to "distro hop," lol.

The DSL live cd ran ok, after waiting quite a while to boot it. Tried to install it to disk and after 30minutes of installing it could go no further. I guess i'll try it again.
