    Hello everyone

I have and use a few computers (including my laptop) like many of you but my Hewett Packard desktop is doing funny things. It has a...
    4600+ AMD Athlon 64X2 Dual-core processor.
2048 MB Memory... 320 GB hard drive.
NVIDIA GeForce 6150 LE Graphics and I am running Linux Mint... love it. I use this computer almost exclusively for my studio photos.

Lately I have been experiencing my monitor going dim when I click on getting my mail or starting new programs. I checked FAQ and received no answers to my query. This monitor thing doesn't happen all the time but when it does; (in about 2 to 15 seconds max), it returns to normal color and continues. It never locks up. Its just frustrating... as many things of this nature are... any advice?
Its 9:30 am here in Guelph Ontario and I have to leave for a while. I'll check back in 2 or three hours.

This happens once in a while on my Ubuntu Dual core and like you say not all the time. Screen just Dims and goes grey a little, Right? Doesn't happen a lot either. I wouldn't sweat it.

I don't know why this happens sometimes and it can happen randomly. With me it can happen trying to access a chat room like the IRC here or opening up a certain movie online. It Doesn't happen often and I don't sweat it. My other distros don't exhibit this behavior. It is only a Ubuntu specific thing. And Mint is Ubuntu basically with just a different skin and Codecs.
