    A distro for nothing but running Firefox

    Hi,
    Long story short, I can't handle the load-up times on my laptop (currentyly running Windows XP) anymore and want to switch to something much faster. I've been browsing about all morning looking for a distro that might be appropriate but haven't found anything that seems to be what I want.

    I don't really use my computer for anything but the internet, so the only things that are really important to me is that I can boot up very quickly and that Firefox (or something just as good) works as well as it does on Windows (for example, I never got YouTube to work when I dabbled in Ubuntu a couple years ago). A text/html editor and something to listen to music with would be great too.

    Can somebody recommend something appropriate?

    Thanks for any suggestions!

    My specs are as follows:
    Dell Inspiron 2200
    * Intel Pentium M 735 (1.7GHz) Processor
    * 512MB PC2700 DDR Memory
    * 40GB 4200rpm Hard Drive

    Mint Linux is a newer distribution that is taken from Ubuntu but has support for things like Flash, Java and MP3s build it.

    However, if you liked Ubuntu then you can install support for Flash and a lot of other restricted software with the command:

    Code:
    sudo apt-get install ubuntu-restricted-drivers

    Have a look at BrowserLinux. I can't comment on wireless support but it is a LiveCD to try.

    This looks very promising, I'll try it after work. Thanks!
