Advice about a how to learn about Linux kernel

Hi ther guys..

well, I am pretty new into Linux, so far I have enjoyed my expirience, but I would really like to know more about how Linux works inside, so I know that I should read and maybe try to understand more about the code inside the kernel. As anyone can imagine the kernel is massive, so I have not started to read the code or well, I have not idea where to start to read the code !!!

I have been reading a good book (and what is more important try to understand it!!) about the kernel, Understanding the LInux Kernel but I would also like to try a hands on approach as well, one thing is reading a MASSIVE BOOK and other is linking what you read with the code.

I would like to read some advice of how to approach a more in dept learning of the kernel. the kernel is the "engine" of the car so if I understand how my "engine" works well, I can just do anything I want with my car lol..( I know pretty silly comparison )

That book is a good start. I think you should compile your own kernel for a deeper understanding of what your system is doing and how the boot process works before you get into the nitty gritty details of the actual kernel code.
