    Firefox Web browser not opening

    Hi,

    i have installed CentOS on my VMware ,

    and then installed firefox using the statement

    yum install firefox

    after some installation it said that it is complete

    My Problem:
    ----------------
    and now when i press the web browser button,

    i can see something as starting firefox in the task bar down... and that disappears without any window coming up

    can anyone please help me in opening the web browser in my CentOS...

    is the way of installing firefox correct.??

    please let me know if you want any other details....

    Try starting firefox from xterm (or similar) ... that way you should be able to see any error messages which should help work out what the problem is ...

    In CentoOS start GUI and open any terminal you have xterm, eterm, konsole, gnome terminal etc then just type firefox ...

    Jonathan,

    got this msg

    /usr/lib/firefox-3.0.14/firfox-bin: /usr/lib/libnss3.so:
    version `NSS_3.12.3` not found (required by /usr/lib/firefox-3.0.14/libxul.so)

    pls suggest , what next??

    Looks like libnss is the problem ... I don't use CentOS but you may find this useful, and there are plenty of people who are familiar with yum on the forums
