Cant listen to audio from webpage

I am trying to listen to an audio lecture from a web site. The only 2 options to listen are to use Realplayer or Windows Media Player. Neither will play. I have only been using linux for a few days, so I am having trouble learning this new system. Thank you for the help.

    Welcome to the forums!

You can install Realplayer for Linux:

RealPlayer for Linux - the best audio and video player - Real.com

It would be best to use the package tool for your distribution to install it if possible.

I did that, I now have an Icon "RealPlayer11GOLD.bin" on my desktop that I cannot open.
I also opened a terminal and typed sudo apt-get install realplay
I recieved a "couldn't find package realplay" message.

You can check this HowTo for a number of different ways to install software under Linux:

...post# 8 explains how to install .bin files.

If you are running one of the Debian based distributions, you'd probably have better luck downloading the .deb file off the realplayer site.
