Best Linux for Audio and Video
Hi, I have bought a new Destop with the following configuration.
Intel Desktop media series board DP35DP
Intel Core 2 Quad processor,
4 GB DDR2 RAM,
N-Vidia Gforce graphics adaptor
7.1 Audio Output,
TV Tuner card.
I will use the above desktop for watching movies, Listening audio, Games and internet and TV.
My friends tell me to go for Windows XP. But I want to use Linux. Can anyone suggest me which linux distribution supports above motherboard and processor? Will I get good Video (DVD Movies, DivX, etc.) and Audio Support? Can I use my TV Tuner card in that distribution.

It does not matter what distro you use, main thing is codec.
and those will remain same on most distros..
but still you have major distros as option.
Ubuntu and Variants / Mint
Fedora
OpenSUSE
Mandriva
Arch
etc etc.
Just don't forget to install all the GStreamer Plugins and Media Center like XMBC or Moovida

I would recommend Linux Mint. It generally requires the least post installation configuration for multimedia stuff.
Whether the TV Tuner works depends on the specific card.
