Exclamation Which Linux Distribution for D915GAV

    Hi,
    I have the following Hardware,
    Mother Board: Intel D915/GAV
    RAM: 512
    CPU: G Hz

I am completely newbie in the wonderful world of Linux.
Can you tell me which version is as suitable and faster as Microsoft's Windows XP on the same system.

And from where to download it?

herhaps you didn't mention CPU correctly.
your hardware is good enough to install any distro.
i will recommend ubuntu for you it is said to be relatively easy to use for new user.get it here

you can also consider fedora, i love it thats why i cann't ignore it. get it here
    Fedora Project
    Sorry, it was unintentional.
You should have told me at least once and i could have fix it.

just read installation instructions for ubuntu.
ubuntu is relativelt easy to install but be aware of things before you begin installation. otherwise you may loose your data. i am not depressing you, just advising you that is the common mistake most people do.

    Hi,
I downloaded UBuntu and Fedora but images were corrupt.
I hardly found Red Hat Linux in 3 CDs and installed it. Firstly I got some problems because my Hard Disk is SATA but I changed BIOS options and it went okay all the way.

Now after the installation I am currently using FireFox browser.
How to use my Fat32 and NTFS?
How do I install RealTek High Definition Audio Drivers I have downloaded and the file is in autdioxxxx.tar.gz formate.

Even I have used Linux for fist time, I have planned to not go back to Windows instead Linux has started make me love it.

So please can you tell me how to basically use it?

    I could not understant ./configure
make and make install commands. I get errors.

Hope I will get kind answer.
