    GIMP Help!

    I need to do a simple task and I feel like everything I read is sending me for a loop! I need to take one picture and layer another over it. The first picture being of a truck the second being of a SOLD stamp. The SOLD stamp picture has a white background. How do I make the white part go away? Please help!!!

    THANKS!!!

    Assuming you're using the latest version of gimp, follow these steps:

    * Open your stamp image.
    * Menu Color, command 'Color to Alpha' (on previous versions is into the Filter menu, submenu Color, I think)
    * Select white color and confirm the operation.
    * You'll have your stamp image with transparent background
    * Select All (Ctrl + A) and copy
    * Open other image
    * Paste the other image
    * Move to desired position
    * Save as
    * voila!
    EOF
