HELP: Loading Linux on an old NEC Versa 6060 laptop

I am a Linux noob, but experienced computer user. I would like to install Linux on the following computer:

    NEC Versa 6060 laptop
    Pentium 166 MHz
    80MB RAM
    3GB HD
    Floppy
    CD-Rom
    PCMCIA networking card
    1 USB
    Currently running Windows 95

I could use a hand picking the appropriate distro for the above computer, and links to the appropriate tutorials, and any other tips/info that you think would be helpful.

    Thank you very much!

With 80Mb of RAM you might look at DSL (Damn Small Linux), Slitaz Linux or Tiny Core Linux

Is DSL my best chance for success? I am not looking for a new hobby or a month-long project.

DSL is the longest in existance. I quite like Slitaz, but when I last looked (a while ago) it did not support wireless well.

I run Puppy Linux [Mean Pup] on a similar box. Works flawlessly for past year or more. Also I did Not have to make it a carreer, nor a project! Just put it in and go!!
    Wireless works flawlessly, too.

BTW :I do not like to put links to "other places" on a post.. If you would send a PM I can provide links to exactly the places required.

I would have mentioned Puppy but the quoted system requirements jumped from 64Mb of RAM to 128Mb of RAM. Although there is nothing wrong with trying an older issue.

From the puppy site: RAM : 128 MB physical RAM for releases since version 1.0.2 or failing that a Linux swap file and/or swap partition is required for all included applications to run; 64 MB for releases previous to 1.0.2

I took the easy/safe/sure-to-work route and put Windows 98 Second Edition on it. It is up and running beautifully. It was a super easy install. Thanks for the help!
